A product name gives you a starting point. The label gives you the detail. Before adding a supplement to your basket, compare the serving information, ingredients and directions on the actual product.
Start with the serving size
A capsule, gummy or scoop is a unit. A serving can contain more than one unit. Check the serving-size panel before comparing two products: a bottle containing 60 capsules does not necessarily contain 60 servings.
For example, a hypothetical 60-capsule bottle with a serving size of two capsules contains 30 servings. Use the directions on the product rather than assuming every bottle follows the same format.
Read the amount and the unit together
Ingredient amounts may be expressed in milligrams, micrograms, grams or other units. Compare the same ingredient and the same units, and check whether an amount is listed per capsule or per serving. A large number on the front of a bottle is only useful when you know what it refers to.
Look beyond the headline ingredient
Read the full ingredient list, including capsule materials, flavourings and other ingredients. For gummies and flavoured products, check the nutrition and ingredient information as well as the named active ingredient.
Compare cost per serving
Divide the bottle price by the number of servings for a clearer price comparison. For example, a hypothetical $40 bottle containing 30 servings costs about $1.33 per serving. Use this alongside the formula and serving information; price alone does not tell you whether a product fits your needs.
Keep the label close
When your order arrives, read the bottle again before use. Follow its directions and storage information. If a product page and the physical label appear different, contact us so we can check the details.
